Retail Merchandising Lead
ALPEN MARKET LEAD DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Resort Operations Manager | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Part-Time
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Alpen Market Lead will utilize their skills for displaying and promoting the latest and most popular items for resort guests. Organizational skills will aid in inventory and special-order management, and tracking. A service heart and engaging personality will make the Alpen Market Lead exceptional at anticipating guest preferences, delivering the individualized service so important for guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consistently provide individualized service to guests
- Work with the supervisor to follow through on the retail & open to buy plan for each season
- Prepare incoming inventory for sale (pricing, tagging, display)
- Work with accounting to be sure invoices are submitted on time, discounts utilized
- Coordinate and conduct monthly inventories
- Educate and assist staff to enhance service, product knowledge and sales skills
- Build relationships amongst team members and other departments
- Create and utilize an exceptionally welcoming and timely special-order system
- Create and conduct sales promotions and special events (trunk shows, holidays, etc.)
- Create internal sales competitions
- Stocking and marketing product
- Assists with training teammates on company procedures and programs; this includes onboarding new teammates and cross-training current teammates
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect by using diplomacy and tact; ensures that customers are greeted and acknowledged; offers customers assistance as needed or requested
- Assist in achieving the store shrinkage goal by ensuring that all merchandise used for display is properly always handled and accounted for
- Participate in merchandise sets, replenishment and recovery processes, pricing and signing execution, etc., to ensure that established presentation standards are met and maintained.
- Generates Sales Report
- Balance cash drawer, develop procedures for teammates with accountability
- Enter new product and updated pricing into POS accurately
- Price audit to ensure mark ups are accurate and appropriate
- Maintain clean and orderly storefront
- Ensure taxes and fees are charged appropriately, all alcohol sales are properly ID’d
- Store is staff monitored or lock and secured at all times
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated previous Customer Service experience
- Previous hospitality experience would be preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well-presented and professional appearance
- Competency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn on the job
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must have flexible hours
- Available to work on weekends and holidays
- Genuine service heart
- Working knowledge of POS and Inventory software
- Creativity for display, communications, and promotions
- Plays an effective role in a team environment
- Conducts all business in an ethical manner
